Under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, the Qatar Equestrian Federation in association with the Qatar Olympic committee held its annual Show Jumping Sword Championship March 11-12, 2013.



Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Company was the main sponsor of the event with a sponsorship of 400,000QR. In his remarks during the press conference with Qatar Equestrian Federation President, Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah, Mr. Hisham bin Saleh Al Mana, Chairman & Managing Director of Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Company, emphasized the importance of supporting world-class sporting events in order to encourage Qatari youth to showcase their skills and develop their immense potential. 

“With this sponsorship we seek to build a closer and long-term relationship with the Qatar Equestrian Federation as well as with the community. Qatar is emerging as an exceptional sporting region and equestrian sports are part of Qatar and the Arab world’s heritage. The Emir, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, is keen to support sports activities in our country and therefore it is our responsibility to support those activities that contribute to the development of our community,” stated Mr. Hisham bin Saleh Al Mana. 

“We hope that our partnership with the Federation will open the doors for more opportunities for collaboration and will encourage other entities to follow suit in supporting community service and Qatar heritage, thereby helping Qatar achieve the development goals to which we aspire. We wish every success for the Equestrian Federation and local and global success for our Qatari cavaliers. Our support will continue year after year”, concluded Mr. Al Mana.

The two-day event concluded on 12 March with the final round of competition and the awarding of the winners. The Emir’s Sword, for the third time consecutively, went to first place winner Bassim Hassan Saif. Second place winner, Faleh Swaid Al Ajmi, was awarded with the dagger. Third place winner, Ali Yousef Al Rumahi, received the spear.
